Who’s on board?

Our partners represent the global seafood supply chain. In line with our Fishery Improvement Projects, each partner, where feasible, has come to the table with an individual sourcing statement, outlining their position on the continued sourcing of North East Atlantic mackerel, Atlanto-Scandian herring, and North East Atlantic blue whiting.

Why?

1. To demonstrate their own commitments to sustainability.

2. To highlight to decision-makers that urgent action is needed to safeguard North East Atlantic pelagic stocks

3. To show that irresponsible management has consequences for the marketplace.

“Joining forces with strategic and global partners to achieve important goals is at the core of our way of doing things. Partnership is our Leadership and NAPA is the most effective way to deal with the consequences of the current lack of sustainability in the Northeast Atlantic pelagic fisheries.”

Luciano Pirovano, Global Sustainable Development Director Food at Bolton Group

“As a founder member of NAPA, we believe that this unique collaboration can help us meet our responsible seafood commitments. It is our collective duty to preserve fish stocks for future generations, and we know our customers agree.”

Melissa Tillotson, Senior Aquaculture and Fisheries Manager at Waitrose

“Establishing a Fishery Improvement Project through NAPA provides a highly credible way for regulators, fishing associations, and fishers to engage to find a solution that delivers a long-term solution for sustainable management of shared stocks.”

Dr Dave Robb, Sustainability Program Lead at Cargill
